If It's Monday . . .

FOR TODAY:  it's My Simple Womans Daybook Day.
Outside my window...  the sun is shining, the pastures are green and growing, the cows are peacefully grazing and it's a mild 74 degrees out there.
I am thinking...  that I don't look forward to the long ride home (1' 30") but I'm always happy to come here.
I am thankful...  for our lovely w/e. We went to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino on Saturday and we both won for a change.  I noticed a display of Landau jewelry as we were leaving and saw some bracelets that I thought would make perfect gifties for the California girls so we got 5 (one is for me) of them.  Mine is called "Come to the Casino".  It has one dice and a slot machine. Pretty cute
In the kitchen...  the cupboard (refrigerator) is pretty bare.  Time for some grocery shopping.
I am wearing...  tan bottoms and a bright pink top. Bardfoot as usual.
I am going...  to take Dick to the doctor to get his stitches removed and then I'll be on my way home.
I am reading...  I finished Nicholas Sparks's "Safe Haven" and "Heart of the Matter" by Emily Giffin and started "The Handyman" by Linda Nichols
I am looking forward to...  August 10th. the same as last week . . .   The movie "Hope Spring" starring Meryl Streep & Tommy Lee Jones OPENS. Yah!! Problem is . . . Sebring is really not a huge market so I won't be surprised if our theater's don't get the movie right away.  Either way it will be well worth the wait.
Around the house...  painting the shed is still in the thinking stage. I've got some prep work to do before I get the paint.
I am pondering...  (please excuse the soapbox) WHY is it that they can put 'Curiosity' on Mars but they can't figure out how to manufacture solar panels that are affordable.  Florida is the Sunshine State and it seems to me that there should be solar panels on every roof in every town. Amen.
A favorite quote for today...  "Age is something that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese." -
Billie Burke.
One of my favorite things...  the Olympics.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  Dahli goes to the groomer and I go to the Doctor tomorrow.  Shuffle and cardBingo on Wednesday and Dahli goes to Dr. Saunder's for her annual check-up on Thursday. It's a doggie kind of week.
A peek into my day... Isn't Gabby Douglas just spectacular?

  1. Hi Marge!

I love your daybook - and I love winning! Your bracelet is adorable, maybe it will bring you luck?!

We want to put a solar panel on our camp trailer, but I agree, they are outrageously priced - really, they should be cheaper!

Love Gabby Douglas, she is such a doll, and a wonderful athlete!

Good luck with your doggy days - stay safe!

    Hugs,
    Barb

  2. Hi Marge,
I am not sure if you remember me but I used to blog a while ago over at The Little House. I found your blog on Lori's so I thought I would stop in and say hi! I hope you have a terrific week!

  3. Hi Marge, Happy Tuesday!

Enjoyed reading your SWD entry. Which of the 3 books did you like best. I'll have to check them out.
I agree with you on solar panels. They should be a given all over even here. Think what we would save on heating fuel!
Have a great Tuesday dear friend. Hugs

  5. Hi Marge!
Sorry I've been MIA in blogland again, but have been having a delightful summer and lots of playing in my garden that I've started up again after a few years of letting the weeds take over! Hope your summer is going well, too. Have a super week. Lots of hugs!

  7. Cute bracelet! I'm a California girl, do I get one, too! ;) It's great you have someone who can watch Dahlia for you. It's hard with our big dogs to find someone willing to take them in! The Olympics have been so great! Sorry our girl gymnasts haven't done as well individually. I think they're trying too hard. (((Hugz)))

  8. Hi Marge! We didn't see any chickens at all at the fair... just lots of pigs, goats, sheep and cows. Maybe we missed the poultry tent. Of course I know silkies from Farmville! ;) (((Hugz)))
