Bunny Day

All of us here at Lake Bonnet Village will have dinner today at 1 o'clock.  The Board supplies the hams and all of us bring a side dish to the feast.  I'll be busy taking pictures that I'll post on our Facebook page for all our members to see.  I may take Phyllis with me.  She's the little bunny that Claudia & Tony gave me last year when they visited.  She's so cute.  I just love her. Thanks again, dear friends.

The Bible

Wondering if anyone out there has been watching the series on the History Channel named "The Bible".  It's been on every Sunday evening in March.  Producers Mark Burnett ("Survivor", "The Voice", "Shark Tank") and Roma Downey ("Touched By An Angel") made this series.  It's really an introduction to the Bible with an excellent cast of characters.  The finale is Easter Sunday @ 8 pm.

Seems as though everyone is busy getting ready for Easter.  I say that cuz it seems like no one is here much anymore.  I'm thinking the blog thing is almost over for me again or should I just keep going for my own need to share.

Wondering what Instagram is.  Anybody know? and willing to share some info.

My video came in today's mail.  Amazingly fast, I think. I'll be watching it this evening and enjoying every minute I'm sure.

Looks like a fun one to start with.

Spring where r u ?

It's warm & WINDY. I mean really really windy. It's like blow you off the porch windy. It gets cooler tomorrow. That's because I spent most of the day yesterday putting cold weather clothes away and getting out the summer stuff.

The sound system went out at Mass this morning. Today is Palm Sunday and that makes it the worst possible day for the sound system to go out. (Where were you when we needed you this morning, Andy?) Anyway they messed around with it long enough and finally got it to work again. Don't you just love happy endings?

Going . . . Going . . . . Gone

It was cold at shuffle this morning. Not even the bright sun was able to warm things up very much.

The cute little vintage trailer left this morning with no word from the owner. Guess she really didn't want to sell it after all. (sniff-sniff) Took a photo of it yesterday.

I suspect she probably did not really want to sell it!

Spring!!!

It's the perfect "First Day of Spring" here. It's dreary with occasional sprinkles so my grass is very happy.

Matt left for home yesterday morning. It was a sad time with Dad's passing away but I think he had a good time overall. He helped out with chores at the farm, spent a few days with me here in AP and even got to St. Pete to spend some time with the Dalton's. Nice!

I found a vintage camper here in the RV section. It's in really good condition and it's "4 Sale". ????price I've been looking for one for ages & I'm so tempted. Should I??

It looks something like but not exactly like this one!!

A Rosie Day!!

A few days ago, I got a message from Rose Carpenter telling me that she was in my neck of the woods.  OMG! I was thrilled to hear the news and asked if we could get together for lunch.  Well today was the lucky day.  Rose and her hubby, Clyde drove to Sebring and we had lunch at The Garden Cafe.  Clyde took this picture of us.

Rose is the 3rd of my long time internet friends that I've had the joy to meet in person.  Melanie Cook and Claudia Macchione were #1 and 2.  Nothing can be sweeter than meeting internet friends in person.  We talked and Clyde patiently waited while we gabbed.  He has got to be the most patient fella I've ever met.  It truly was a Rosie day for me.  Loved every minute. Thanks for the visit Rose & Clyde.

Yesterday was the annual 50th Anniversary Party here in the Village.  We had 2 couples celebrating 50 years of marriage and 3 couples celebrating 70 years of marriage.  Unbelievable.  All the couples are happy & healthy and high functioning.  No wheel chairs or walkers in this group.  We enjoyed hearing about their lives & laughing at their funny stories. A truly enjoyable evening!

A Fun Week-End

After 2 week-ends of sadness, this one is a fun one. Yesterday was our annual Appreciation Day here at the Village.  Yesterday we were treated to "all you can eat" pizza & beer/soda.  It always such a special day because just about 'everyone' attends.  Something for nothing, you know.  Love it!
Today the Master Gardener's of Sebring held their plant sale at the Ag Center.  This is one event I try never to miss because their variety is huge and their prices are really low.  I got a butterfly bush and a lavender plant. Hope they both do good for me. The butterfly bush will eventually look like this one below.

Tonight's the night.  Daylight Savings Time begins.  Just do it! Maxine graphic says BACK but . . . FORWARD  is what we do tonight.

Celebrating a Life

Last Saturday was a special day at the farm.  Along with Dick's Disney World friends, his Winn-Dixie friends and his family, we celebrated his life.  Good food, funny stories and wonderful memories to share especially about fishing which was Dick's favorite thing to do.

Here's a little memorial we set up in the Florida room along with a guest book to sign.
Because Dick was a veteran, we chose to have his ashes placed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell FL

These beautiful roses & babies breath are from Chris & Lisa
& this basket came from our daughter Sue and her girls.  They were not able to be with us in person so we Skyped and shared tears over the airwaves. I love technology.

Today is a Card Party sponsored by the Sebring Garden Club.  Looking forward to a nice lunch.
