March is going . . . going . .

Is it gone yet?  Hope it goes out like a lamb where you are!  It's a gorgeous day here but I'm not going to dwell on that too much for fear of offending.  Really?

I watched Nebraska over the w/e and it was so enjoyable. It's definitely a film for one of us Senior citizens.  Since I'm one of them I could really relate.  I especially love Bruce Dern's wife played by June Squibb  & one of the sons played by Will Forte.

This one gets an A-.  No sex scenes, no violence & only 2 f*** words which were stuck in there so the film wouldn't get the PG13 rating.  I liked it alot.

ending . . .

Today was the last day to shuffle followed by lunch at the Olive Garden.  Yummy soup & salad for me. Good food, good friends, good fun!

Nebraska came today.  I may watch it after Survivor tonight.
Summary:
When a cantankerous old boozer thinks he's won a magazine sweepstakes prize, his son reluctantly takes a road trip with him to claim the fortune. As they drive from Montana to Nebraska, they visit friends and relatives to whom the dad owes money.

About Dallas Buyers Club:
Same old. same old with the movie.  Too much f**k word.  Too many sex scenes.  Like I said: same old. same old.

Personally:  It was 1986 but it seems like only yesterday when the night supervisor came on the floor for report and showed me this small article that she cut out of newspaper.  It was about HIV/AIDS.  I read it. I looked at her with this questioning look on my face.  She said: "this is gonna change the world".  Little did I realize how true those words would turn out to be.

RAINY . . .

TONI finds all these good quizzes for us so I took her lead and did the same one she did and got the same results. I'm OK with that!  Thanks TONI.

You Are a Plain Ole Cup of Joe
But don't think plain - instead think, uncomplicated
You're a low maintenance kind of girl... who can hang with the guys
Down to earth, easy going, and fun! Yup, that's you: the friend everyone invites.
And your dependable too. Both for a laugh and a sympathetic ear.

Grab your umbrella before you head out the door this morning.  It's really pouring out there. Hope yours is a sunny day!

This week . . .

I'm reading . . .

Cassie Simon returns to her mother's hometown in Sweet Water, Tennessee when she inherits a home and land from her grandfather. There, Cassie reconnects with her estranged family and tries to find out what happened the day her mother died in
a car . . .

I'm watching . . .

Loosely based on true events, this drama follows Ron Woodroof, who refuses to accept he'll be dead in 30 days when he's diagnosed with AIDS in 1986.  He extends his life and eventually helps many other AIDS patients by smuggling  medications from abroad.

So that's what's going on in my life this week.  Leave a COMMENT & tell me what's up with you. Thanks.

where did you go?

I was surprised to find my background gone when I visited my blog yesterday.  Turns out that www.shabbyblog.com isn't around anymore so that's why my background didn't show up. Too bad.  I really liked shabby's backgrounds. Mystery solved!

oops!

Looks like I've been neglecting my blog again, doesn't it?  I'm not seeing my background graphic so I'm wondering what happened to it.  Time to investigate when I'm done here.

I'm playing a game on Facebook called "Criminal Case".  It's pretty good so if you're looking for something give it a try.  You may like it too!

Catching Up . . .

It's been way too long since my last entry so it's time to CATCH UP!

Saturday, March 1st: I did a deep clean of my bedroom. Changed the dust ruffle and mattress pad and blanket and got those all washed at our Laundry Room.

Sunday, March 2nd:  It was my ususal 8 o'clocl Mass and out to breakfast with my lady friends.  Watched the Oscar's in the evening.

Monday, March 3rd:  Laundry and getting ready for my trip to Tampa on Tuesday.

Tuesday, March 4th:  Annie Sullivan picked me up at 11:30 a.m. and we headed North to Tampa with a stop at Woody's for lunch.  Woody's is my all time fave place for baby back ribs.  What a great treat.  Loved it.  Checked in at the Residence Inn in Tampa around 3 and were very pleased with our accommodations.  At 6;30 p.m. they called us down for social hour during which they served a light supper of hot dogs, b-b-q chicken, tossed salad & dressings, cole slaw & all the ice tea or lemonade you could drink.  FREE!!

Wednesday, March 5th:  4 a.m. wake up call so that I could be at the Norman Parathyroid Center at Tampa General Hospital at 5:15 a.m.  I changed into the usual hospital gown and the RN's did all the prep stuff.  I went for a nuclear scan of my parathyroids and then the Doc's came in for the usual talk.  They said I would go the OR by 7 a.m. and be on my way home by 9: 30 and that's exactly what happened.

Before leaving the OR, the Doc brought me a picture of my tumor.  That gland should be the size of a grain of rice.  Based on the looks of it, I'm not surprised it caused my Ca++ levels to be so elevated.  Annie dropped off at my house at 11:30 a.m..  I was gone exactly 24 hours.   Dahli stayed at Joyce's and she was so happy to see me she jumped in my lap and she never does that.

Thursday, March 6th: to Sunday, March 9th:   Decisions, decisions, decisions.  I had to decide if I was going to Bike Week in Daytona Beach and let the kids know by 9 a.m.  I felt fine. No pain. No problems so I called to let them know I would be there by Noon.  We stayed at the Hilton again and in the same type room that they call a Cabana. It's great in that there's a large patio, grass, a boardwalk and the ocean right there.  Loved it!

Here we are on the patio.  Me & Dahli, Robbie, Jenny, Debbie and Chelly.  Andy is taking the pictures.

The beautiful beach with Joe's Crab Shack on the pier.

Andy, Jenny, Chellie, Me & Robbie on our way to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.
Debbie is missing cause she's taking the pictures.

Andy & me & Dahli
sitting on the steps of the Hilton watching the bikes go by.

Thanks, kids.  I really had a  fun time!!
