CC #7 of 30

With the start of school just weeks away, Florida lawmakers want to encourage you to take advantage of this weekend’s Back to School Sales Tax Holiday.
Beginning Friday, August 1, 2014, and ending Sunday, August 3, 2014, items such as clothing, footwear, backpacks, and more are exempt from the state sales tax and county discretionary sales surtaxes.
Florida lawmakers approved the holiday as a way to help families save on the cost of the many items needed by students as they return to school, but you don’t have to be a student to enjoy these savings.

  1. Oh yes, that will be going on here also...does it happen everywhere? I want to get out and get some of Josh's school supplies during it. Have a nice weekend Marge!! ((BIG HUGS))!!

  2. Marge that's really great that this goes on before school! I bet it's a huge help for families.

I loved your prior post too - the brown bag pool time. Sounds fun!

    Have a wonderful weekend! Hugs

  3. I'm very glad that they do this. I like it when they do the same for hurricane supplies before the season too. Have a great weekend.

  4. Hi Marge! They do the same thing in Maryland. It's a GREAT idea, there are a lot of families struggling and this tax break really helps them. Hope you're having a great Friday! Have a beautiful weekend. Hugs
