Developing Baby "I
can suck my thumb"

breathing amniotic fluid, which continues until birth,
although she obtains the oxygen her body needs
through the umbilical cord.
The baby you are
praying for weighs one ounce.
Early this month--at
just nine weeks . . . she began to suck her thumb.
Not sure why I haven't been here more often this month!
Guess I was just too busy with LIFE. :)
Here's an update on Rose, the unborn baby I pray for daily.
MONTH 2 – Developing Baby –
“I’m dancing!" Spiritual
Your spiritually adopted baby is
making progress developing all
of her external features and
internal organs. Her brain is functioning at 40 days.
Her mother can hear her heartbeat now on an
ultrasonic stethoscope. Baby-teeth buds are present
at 61/2 weeks. The central nervous system is
functioning and 40 muscle sets begin their first
exercises. From this moment, your spiritually adopted
baby grows and refines her body, but, everything she
needs to survive after birth is already present by the
end of the eighth week. She is now called a "fetus," a
Latin word meaning "little one". Ultrasound reveals
that this little one can now spring, flip, and jump -- her
first dance steps!
it's a rainy day here today. That's good cause we really need the rain to clean some of the pollen out of the air. Dale and Bob came yesterday morning and took up the carpeting in my bedroom and installed my new flooring. Looking so pretty.
Started this entry yesterday . . . finished it today. Had trouble downloading the picture from my I-pad. Can't believe a whole week has gone by since my last entry. Wow! It's really true - time goes fast when you're having fun (or you're really busy). I've been doing lots of shopping and getting ready for the install of laminate flooring for my bedroom. My entire house is laminate except for my bedroom so that will be changed next week with this stuff.
This morning is Mass and grocery shopping. Another gorgeous day in Florida today. Happy May 1st !!
My Parish Church has started a Spiritual Adoption Program. When they asked for volunteers, I signed up even though I wasn't all that sure about how this all works. Turns out that all I have to do is say a special little prayer composed by Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen daily. Here's how it goes:
"Jesus, Mary & Josheph,
I love you very much. I beg you
you to spare the life of the unborn baby
that I have spiritually adopted who is
in danger of abortion"
My spiritually adopted infant is named ROSE.
Here she is in the stage of development: MONTH 1 - MY
HEART IS BEATING. Your spiritually adopted baby has
been quite active over the past
month. Already, your baby is 10,000 times bigger than at
conception. Your baby has developed the foundations of his
brain, spinal cord, and nervous system by the 20th day. His/
her heart began to beat on the 21st day, pumping blood
through its own circulatory system, and the blood type can be
different from his/her mother. Your baby is most vulnerable
during the next month of being aborted. Pray that the Lord of
Life might move the heart of this mother to give him/her the
most precious gift of all--the gift of life.
Jeremiah 1:5 - "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew
you, before you were born, I dedicated you..."
A little late to welcome the month of March so I'll just forget that part and go on from there. So, now I have this full-blown cold and cough. So fun. I've been able to avoid this crud that's been creeping through our community but Monday was my waterloo. I went to the ladies tea on Monday and played Millie's game afterwards. Come to find out that one of the gals I played with had a cold. Drat!! why don't they stay home when they are sick? Anyway, Jackie, Steve and baby Veda are in St. Pete with Mo & Jerry and she was gonna visit today until I told her that the cold virus with alive and well in my nose. Postponed until Sunday or Monday. Maybe. Hopefully. Here's my bathing beauty great grand. Isn't she a cutie?
Yesterday was a bus trip to Boca Raton FL to visit Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. The church has been designated by our Bishop as a Mercy Church. It's the Year of Mercy for our church so this little church on Pine Island out in the Bay of Mexico takes on a special place for us.
After confession and Mass, one of the parishoners gave a short presentation on the little Church because it's filled with articles from 16th century Spain. An amazing and holy place.
After lunch at the 3rd Street Pub, we jumped back on the bus and headed home feeling holier that thou. Yikes! Now I'm really getting carried away! :)
"Why is today called "Fat Tuesday" or "Mardi Gras" "?
According to my mother-in-law, years ago, if you were Catholic, the rule of 'no more meat during Lent' would start. Therefore, housewives who cooked with lard, which comes from meat, could not use lard for the next 40 days.
So that their lard did not go to waste, they made a batter for donuts and fried their donuts in what lard was left. God forbid you ever wasted anything!
So if my m-i-l was alive today, she would make her punchkies/donuts and we would all go visit and stuff ourselves with her donuts.
This morning was our annual Garage Sale. My job is to sell coffee and donuts and funnel cakes that the ladies in the kitchen with me are making! They are dee lish!! Always a FUN day for me!! Hope you're having a fun day as well.
