Happy Thanksgiving

Tuesday, November 21st.
I'm busy getting ready for Thanksgiving Day dinner at the farm. The baked apples are in the oven and the house smells wonderful.  The cucumbers are sliced and in the refrigerator.  I'll add the sour cream on Thursday morning before dinner. I have a Sara Lee pumpkin pie waiting for the oven to empty.  So exciting.  I hope to get an early start for my trip to the farm tomorrow. They say it's one of the busiest days to travel so wish me luck. I call cardBingo tonight and I'll pack after I get home. Busy, busy, busy! Don't you just love it? I sure do!  Gotta go but before I do, I gotta say . . .

Caribbean Cruise

1.   While on a Caribbean cruise, I take the elevator to get to my room. Accidently pressing the wrong button, the elevator doors closes and then opens and I find myself in the bowels of the ship !

2.   Being the curious type, I leave the elevator and start to walk down the hallway and soon come to an area that smells so wonderful that it's easy to see that I've found one of the ship's kitchen.

3.   Now worried, I turn around to go back to the elevator when I suddenly see one of the server's from the dining room who smiles at me and points me toward the elevator.

4.   A little relieved and laughing to myself I realize that I just had one of the best tours of them all - a cruise ships kitchen!

My Week in Review

I'm sitting here trying to remember where the heck did the week GO? Time goes too fast! I'm trying to figure out how to slow it down!

Monday- Can't remember what I did during the morning but I know I went to the pool in the afternoon and  in the evening I went to Bingo and won the final cover-all and got 20 bucks!

Tuesday- Pool with Nancy in the afternoon. Called Card Bingo in the evening. Had 24 players.

Wednesday- Donna & I went to Lowe's so I could pick out some plants for my new garden. Gene, my neighbor planted my new plants for me. They are so pretty! Think I made a good choice. They are easy to care for and do well in full sun. Here's a pix!
The plants are called Ixora. Very popular here in FL

Thursday- Went grocery shopping in the morning & got my flu shot at Walmart. Today was BURGER NITE at the Community Hall. You get a huge burger, chips and a beverage for $5 bucks.
Such a bargain.

Friday- That's today! Had a really bad night. I felt like I had the FLU. Can this really happen? Well, yes it can cause it's happened to me. (Annie stopped by to bring me a piece of pie and guess what? she had a bad reaction to the senior flu shot too!)

Saturday- Tomorrow is Mah-Jongg at Jean's followed by 4 o'clock Mass. Not sure if we're going out to eat or not.

So that's my life this week. My arm still hurts like he** but the headache and weakness are gone. Time to get dressed and enjoy the day!!

Happy 100th . . .

We left beautiful "Seas the Day" on Marco Island yesterday morning and got back to Lake Bonnet Village and Doris's 100th Birthday party.

Doris is 100 years young.
Joyce is 91.
These 2 gals are truly a blessing to know.

No rocking chairs for this dynamic duo.  Doris walks every morning pushing her walker along with her puppy, Maggie on the leash by her side.  If you happen to be out, she'll stop and talk and spend some time.  There must have been at least 100 people at her party yesterday and everyone got a hug and a "thanks" for coming.  She was in her glory & loved every minute of her birthday party.

Joyce is the gal that always babysat Dahli for me.  She's our resident dog lover and always welcomes our puppies into our home.  Joyce also has coffee hour every day at the 3 o'clock.

Just a little glimpse into life at Lake Bonnet Village.
